TREC 7-6 Standards of Practice
This ready-to-use template was developed in accordance with the TREC Standards of Practice 22 TAC §§535.227 – 535.223 (effective February 1, 2022) handbook. Every effort has been made to adhere to the 7-6 format and content requirements.
Two Templates for the Price of One
Because of limitations inherent in the TREC 7-6 format, this template contains only 4,800 comments instead of the standard 7,000. For this reason, in addition to the TREC 7-6 template you will also receive the INL standard Residential Template containing all 7,000 comments. You may transfer the additional comments (like Log Home) as you desire into the 7-6 version.
Specialty Content
In addition to narratives covering the typical home systems, this template also contains comments for:
- Steep- and low-slope roofing (I wrote most of InterNACHI’s roof courses);
- Pool and Spa;
- Well and Septic;
- Thermal Imaging;
- Sewer Scope
- Log Homes (provided separately/I wrote the internachi course);
- Life Safety;
- Free links to Texas state and city building codes;
and includes:
- A 168-entry Contractor Types for Repair Recommendations list (Excel spreadsheet);
- Explanatory diagrams installed in key narratives; and
Extensive Reminder window content;
With over 190 links to technical, educational, and resource information, it's like having an inspection encyclopedia aboard!
A copy of Kenton’s Reference (normally $29.99, but included FREE!);
Kenton's Reference is a 45,000-word collection of MS Word folders and documents organized by home system with articles covering a variety of inspection-related subjects.
