RECEIVING the TEMPLATE
When you purchase, I will be notified and will share the template with you using the email address with which you subscribed to Hive. It will appear as a new template at the top of your list of templates when your copy of hive is open. You may need to refresh. Look for “(Original) INL Residential”. Sometimes my notification system is a little slow, so feel free to notify me by email (kenton@internachi.org) when you purchase and be sure to use the email address with which you subscribed to Hive.
MAKE a SAFETY COPY!
I strongly suggest that you make a safety copy, giving the copy a name slightly different from the original. To duplicate the template, in the template list. select the 3 dots to the right of the template name and select “Duplicate”. That way, if you delete something you later wish you hadn’t, you’ll still have it!
I do not save obsolete templates. Bear in mind that if you somehow lose this templates and I have made significant changes to it, you will have to re-purchase with a discount percentage you’ll find explained here.
EDITING the TEMPLATE
All of my text is editable, including the titles, organization, and content of the introduction, Sections, Subsections, Descriptions, Private Notes, and narratives. Changes I make to my original will not affect the template you receive and changes you make to your copy will not affect my original.
PRIVATE NOTES CONTENT
When you open a Section or Subsection, at the top below “Title” and “Description”, you’ll find a “Private Notes” window. Information and links here will not appear in a report unless you copy and paste them into the Description window or a narrative. A great deal of information (nearly 300 links) has been installed here that is accessible anytime the template is open, making the template also something of an inspection encyclopedia!
Take the time to browse through these links! In addition to free access to ICC, state, and municipal building codes, and much, much more, many inspectors will find helpful information they didn’t know existed, like that from FM Global.
